Frog and button by Edward Dodd, ca. 1775, salvaged from a violin shop in Edinburgh, Scotland which closed in the 1930’s. A gift from Brendan Martin. The mounting system is extremely unusual. Once separated from the original stick, assumed broken, the frog and button rested for more than 200 years until a new stick could be made for it.
